Vowlet Policy

Vowlet Privacy Policy

How Vowlet collects, uses, protects, and handles data for a private Couple Space.

Plain-language summary

Vowlet is a private couple app. It stores content that users choose to create and share inside their Couple Space, uses device permissions only for related features, and does not sell personal data.

1. Scope and Application

This Privacy Policy specifically applies to your use of Vowlet, a private couple communication platform operated by WMTAN. It supplements the baseline WMTAN Master Privacy Policy by outlining data practices unique to the Couple Space environment, including the mobile application, web flows, safety reporting, and customer support channels.

By establishing a Couple Space, you acknowledge that you are entering into a shared data environment with your paired partner. Your privacy within Vowlet is fundamentally interconnected with the actions of the partner you choose to invite.

2. Information We Collect

To facilitate the Vowlet experience, we collect information you provide directly, such as account identifiers, email addresses, display names, and invite code statuses. We also automatically collect metadata regarding your device, operating system, and push notification tokens necessary for reliable real-time communication.

Crucially, Vowlet operates on a 'feature-based collection' model. This means we only collect specific data types when you actively engage with the corresponding feature. For example, location data is only processed if you explicitly grant permission to use distance-based features (e.g., 'Slowly' message delivery), and camera data is only accessed when you actively initiate the camera-first snap interface.

3. User-Generated Content and Couple Space Visibility

Vowlet securely stores the content you generate within your Couple Space, which may include photos (snaps), letters, captions, mood statuses, reactions, and recorded memories. We also track metadata such as read receipts and reveal states to power the interactive timeline.

Because Vowlet is designed for paired interaction, any content you upload into the Couple Space is inherently visible to your paired partner. WMTAN does not actively monitor this private communication, except where required for platform safety, compliance with legal obligations, or in response to a direct user report.

4. No Advertising or Sale of Personal Data

Vowlet is a premium, privacy-first communication tool. We do not serve third-party targeted advertisements within the app, nor do we track your behavior across other apps or websites to build advertising profiles.

WMTAN categorically does not sell, rent, or lease your personal data, your partner's data, or any content uploaded to the Couple Space to data brokers, advertisers, or any other third party.

5. Health Data Disclaimer

While Vowlet features gamified metrics related to your relationship—such as 'heart', 'battery', or 'mood' statuses—these are strictly user experience elements. Vowlet is not a health, medical, or fitness application.

We do not collect protected health information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA or similar international regulations. Any emotional or psychological states you record in the app are treated as standard user-generated content, not medical diagnostic data.

6. Safety, Moderation, and Law Enforcement

To protect our community, Vowlet incorporates in-app reporting and blocking mechanisms. If you report abusive behavior, our Trust & Safety team may review the specific content flagged in your report, alongside relevant account metadata, to determine appropriate action.

WMTAN strictly complies with global child safety laws. If our automated hashing technologies (such as PhotoDNA) or human reviewers detect Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), we are legally obligated to preserve the data, terminate the accounts, and report the incident to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement agencies.

7. Third-Party Service Providers

To operate Vowlet efficiently and securely at scale, we engage trusted third-party infrastructure providers. These include cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, Vercel), secure authentication gateways, database providers, and push notification delivery networks (e.g., Apple APNs, Firebase Cloud Messaging).

These providers act as data processors on our behalf. They are bound by strict Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and are strictly prohibited from using Vowlet data for their own commercial purposes or independent analytics.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Vowlet retains your account data and Couple Space content for as long as your account remains active and paired. If you or your partner choose to unpair or delete the account, the Couple Space is dissolved.

Upon dissolution, we initiate a structured deletion process. Most user-generated content is purged from our active databases within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 90 days. However, we may retain certain limited metadata or moderation records for a longer period if necessary to resolve disputes, prevent repeated abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

User controls and assessment information

  • The privacy policy is publicly accessible without signing in.
  • Camera, notification, and location permissions are described by purpose.
  • Vowlet is described as a private couple app, not a public dating marketplace.
  • Data deletion and account deletion links are available through the product policy navigation.
  • Safety and moderation retention is disclosed separately from ordinary content retention.

Data Safety and permission alignment

  • If Vowlet collects or transmits data off device through the app, WebView, SDKs, or service providers, that behavior must be reflected in the Play Console Data safety form.
  • Camera is used for snap features; notifications are used for interactions and reminders; location is used only for optional location-based behavior when permission is granted.
  • Vowlet does not sell personal data and does not use location for advertising.
  • Report, block, moderation, and support records may be retained longer than ordinary content where needed for safety, abuse prevention, disputes, or legal reasons.
  • If Play Console treats the app as Social or Dating, the child-safety/CSAE standards and in-app reporting path must match these terms and the live experience.
  • If new analytics, ads, crash reporting, payment, or storage SDKs are added, this policy and the Data safety form should be checked before release.
